The Detroit Tigers preseason-schedule starts February 28 against the Mets and ends March 29 in Houston....
... of all places! The preseason-schedule, as usual, features exhibition games against teams from both leagues as the Tigers have their first chance to showcase some amazing new talent.  If you've never been to Lakeland for a week or two of sunshine, baseball, beach, baseball, beer, baseball... you owe it to yourself!
You're close enough to 5 or 10 other camps, so it's easy to check out the action at other places... see two games in one day... get a sunburn... chat with the retirees- it's a lot of fun! Call it preseason... call it exhibition. It's not as informal and laid-back as it used to be and I'm sure, after last year's success it will be even crazier, but don't miss it... take the kids out of school, load up the Chevy and make that 22 hour drive- you won't regret it! Lakeland will never be compared to or confused with South Beach or any other Florida glamor spots, but it's a lot of fun... and - heck- it's not too far from Gatorland!
