It took a while, but Comerica Park......is finally making some of its own traditions and memories!
...but... it didn't quite happen that way, did it? Right from the beginning, guys like Juan Gonzalez and Bobby Higginson griped and complained about how big the place was... "only park bigger than this is Yellowstone, that kind of stuff- and the Tigers really didn't design those early teams very well for such a big yard- some of the old mentality hanging on, we guess. The team simply wasn't up to major league standards when the We'll take a look at the brief history of Comerica, check out some of the highlights... I think they all pretty much occurred in 2006... maybe find some trivia and little -known facts about the place. And we'll go on a little guided tour of the place with pictures and our take on its features and allll those Tiger heads! Comerica Park is really a very good ballpark. Todd Jones made a pretty good comparison when he likened Tiger Stadium to a cup, and Comerica Park to a saucer! Our boy Jonesy sure can turn a phrase, right?

...and it wasn't easy for Comerica Park... the Tigers had hoped to follow the Cleveland Indians' model of bringing along young talent and having it become very good just in time for the new ballpark... and then to capitalize on the park, the team and build on all that...
ballpark opened (and they got a LOT worse)... that was simply the biggest sin. If the Tigers were competitive, there would have been a lot less griping and comparisons to
